Interesting things to See and Do around Shoalhaven Heads.
Comerong Island Track.
Whether your out for a stroll, a serious walker or birdwatcher the Comerong Island Walk is a must.
From the Hotel it is a short walk to the River Rd Bird Park where you start your walk to the Island.
The walk can be done a number of ways either by following the beach South to the tip of the Island
and then heading back via the pathway through the bush or by following the edge of the river around
the sand dunes and picking up the track on the Island to head South and returning via the beach.
The full walk would take up to 4 hrs but can be shortened at any time by cutting through the many pathways
that intersect on the Island.
Take plenty of water with you and if your out for the day the Hotel can provide a Picnic Lunch for your enjoyment.
Seven Mile Beach Track.
Not exactly a walking track but a great walk non the less. Have the Hotel staff drop you
at the Shoalhaven Heads Surf Club and take a walk North along Seven Mile Beach. It is as it says
7 miles or 11.2 kilometers and thats only one way, so if you are attempting the walk to Gerroa
and back then take plenty of water.
A shorter walk is to turn left into the sand dunes at the 1.5 klm mark and follow the path between the
National Park and the Golf Course.
Following the edge of the Golf Course will bring you back to the Beach and a short stroll back to the
Surf Club or the Hotel for a well earned drink.

Lawn Bowls.
Maybe a more sedate game of Bowls is more to your liking.
Shoalhaven Heads has that too. The Shoalhaven Heads Bowling and Recreation Club is located in
the centre of the village and is only minutes walk from the Hotel.
For a bit of fun at the weekend bring the family along and join in the Barefoot Bowls.Contact the Club for times and availability.
Shoalhaven Heads Kite Flyers. On the first Sunday of the month the Southern area of the beach is awash
with colour as the Kite Flyers Club put their kites through their paces.
Kites of every shape and size can be seen soaring into the air above the dunes.
The kids are encouraged to bring along their kites and let the experts show you how to handle it.
